About
Seefbier is a historic Antwerp blonde ale resurrected by Johan van Dyck in 2012 through Antwerpse Brouw Compagnie. Brewed to an old recipe with unconventional grains—malted barley, buckwheat, oats and wheat—and 100% Belgian hops, this unfiltered, hazy blonde carries the character of its 16th-century roots. The aroma blends banana, subtle spice and a touch of perfumed phenols. On the palate, sweetness and creamy smoothness emerge, with notes of honey, clove and citrus zest. The finish is dry and refreshing, with no harsh bitterness. At 6.5% ABV, Seefbier drinks lighter than its strength suggests, making it a distinctive and approachable interpretation of a nearly-lost Belgian style.
