Heelch o'Hops is a Double IPA from Anderson Valley Brewing Company in Boonville, California. The name draws from 'heelch' in Boontling, the local dialect meaning 'a lot' – and that applies directly to the hop bill. Columbus, Chinook and Cascade hops deliver a full, layered character with pronounced bitterness. The nose opens with orange and grapefruit, followed by pine needles and woody undertones. On the palate, assertive hop bitterness takes centre stage, balanced by bready and biscuit malt. The finish is dry and warming, with lingering pine resin and alcohol warmth.
