About
La Chouffe is the flagship beer of Brasserie d'Achouffe, founded in 1982 by two brothers-in-law in the Belgian Ardennes village of Achouffe. Born from a home-brewing hobby, this 8% ABV blonde ale became a celebrated Belgian craft beer. The flavour balances a spicy, fresh character with fruity complexity. Fresh coriander provides a pleasant spicy finish, while citrus and pear notes emerge throughout. Traditional Belgian top fermentation and local Ardennes water shape its character. Smooth, creamy carbonation with an almost velvety texture rolls across the palate, finishing clean and dry. Despite its strength, La Chouffe drinks lighter than its ABV suggests.
