About
Hoegaarden Grand Cru is a strong blonde ale from Brouwerij De Kluis, founded by Pierre Celis in 1966 when he revived Hoegaarden's witbier heritage. Brewed with coloured and pilsner malts and bottle-refermented, this 8.5% ale develops a layered character driven by fruity yeast esters and warming spice. The nose brings yeasty, soft aromas with banana and hints of vanilla, caramel and subtle roasted chocolate. On the palate, fruit and sweet malt balance a light bitterness and gentle hay notes. The finish is clean and dry, with alcohol warmth lingering pleasantly without dominating.
