ZHB Brouwerij was a Dutch brewery based in The Hague (Den Haag), Netherlands. Founded in the late 19th or early 20th century, the brewery operated for several decades before being acquired by Oranjeboom in 1960. It was ultimately closed in 1974, bringing an end to its long history as a local brewing institution in the Dutch brewing landscape. The brewery is perhaps best remembered for Trio Stout, a stout that became one of its signature beers. Trio Stout was notable for its longevity, continuing to be produced even after Oranjeboom took over operations in 1960. The fact that the beer outlasted the brewery's independence speaks to the reputation it had built among Dutch beer drinkers of the era. Today, ZHB Brouwerij is largely a historical footnote in Dutch brewing history, remembered by enthusiasts and beer historians. Trio Stout in particular has attracted attention from those interested in lost and forgotten Dutch beer styles, and continues to be discussed in the context of the broader history of stout brewing in the Netherlands.
