Peroni Brewery is one of Italy's oldest and most iconic brewing companies, founded by Francesco Peroni in 1846 in Vigevano, a small town in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. Over the course of more than 175 years, the brewery has grown from a regional Italian producer into a globally recognised beer brand. The company has changed ownership several times over the decades; SABMiller acquired Peroni in 2003, and the brewery is now Japanese-owned, while Molson Coors has taken on production and distribution responsibilities in certain markets, including the United States. Peroni's portfolio spans a range of lager styles that reflect Italian craftsmanship and brewing tradition. The flagship export brand, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, was first brewed in 1963 and has since become the best-selling Italian beer outside Italy. Alongside Nastro Azzurro, the brewery produces Peroni Bionda, the Gran Riserva Double Malt, Gran Riserva Rossa, Peroni Cruda, Peroni Chill Lemon, and a gluten-free variant. Together, these beers cover a broad spectrum of styles, from crisp everyday lagers to fuller-bodied double malt expressions. Peroni's reputation as Italy's most recognised beer brand is firmly established both domestically and internationally. The Bari brewery, one of the company's key production sites, recently celebrated 100 years of brewing history in that city, underlining the deep regional roots that sit alongside Peroni's global ambitions.
