Mythos is a Greek lager brand with roots going back to 1970, when the brewery was established in Thessaloniki under the name Henninger Hellas S.A., originally serving as the Greek distributor of the German Henninger beer brand. In 1992, the operation became part of the Boutari Group, one of Greece's prominent beverage companies. In 1997, the Boutari Group officially launched the Mythos brand, marking a milestone in Greek brewing history as the first Greek beer to successfully penetrate international markets and become the number one Greek beer of choice among consumers abroad. Mythos is brewed as a crisp, refreshing lager with an alcohol content of 5%, making it a classic everyday drinking beer well suited to the warm Mediterranean climate. Over the years, the brand has expanded its portfolio to include variations such as Mythos Ice, a lighter lager at 4.4% ABV, and Mythos Radler, a beer-based mixed drink at 2% ABV. The brewery, now operating under the name Olympic Brewery, also produces other well-known Greek brands including FIX Hellas, Kaiser, and Henninger alongside the Mythos range. Today, Mythos remains arguably the most recognised Greek beer brand outside of Greece, widely available in Greek restaurants and export markets across Europe and beyond. The brand is part of the Carlsberg Group's global portfolio, giving it significant international reach and distribution.
