Meantime Brewing Company is a pioneering British craft brewery founded in 1999 by Alastair Hook in Greenwich, London. Hook, a trained brewer with a passion for European beer styles, started the brewery on a small industrial estate in the heart of Greenwich — a borough historically defined by precision and time, reflected in the brewery's name. From its earliest days, Meantime positioned itself as a champion of flavour-forward, unpasteurised beers brewed in small batches, at a time when the British craft beer scene was still in its infancy. The brewery quickly earned a reputation for its broad and ambitious portfolio, embracing a wide range of styles — from London Pale Ale and porters to wheat beers and IPAs — inspired by classic European and British brewing traditions. All beers are brewed unpasteurised, preserving the full character of the malt, hops and fermentation. This commitment to taste, flavour and choice became a defining hallmark of the brand. Meantime gained significant industry attention over the years, becoming one of the most recognised craft breweries in the UK. In 2015, the brewery was acquired by global beer group SABMiller, and later passed into the portfolio of Asahi. Despite changes in ownership, Meantime has remained a prominent name in London's craft beer landscape, and has also taken on production of beers from fellow British brewery Dark Star.
