Jan Olbracht Browar is a craft brewery rooted in the historic city of Toruń, Poland. The project began in 2012, when brewers set up their operation inside a 15th-century tenement house in the heart of the old town. The brewery takes its name from Jan Olbracht, a Polish king, reflecting the deep historical identity of Toruń and its medieval heritage. The brewpub, known as Jan Olbracht Browar Staromiejski, has become a welcoming destination in the city centre, recognised for its charming interior of dark wood and stained glass. The brewery produces a diverse portfolio of beers, ranging from a classic European-style Pils to an American Pale Ale called Powrót Króla and a Herb and Spice Beer named Piernikowe — a nod to Toruń's famous gingerbread tradition. The Śmietanka Toruńska, or Toruńska cream, is among their best-known beers. Their range also includes the bottom-fermented dark beer Piernikowy Foch, brewed with gingerbread spice character. Jan Olbracht Browar Rzemieślniczy has earned recognition on the competition circuit, winning a Silver Medal at a Polish brewing competition. With a taproom in a centuries-old building and a beer range that celebrates local culture, the brewery offers both a distinctive drinking experience and a genuine taste of Toruń.
