Brouwerij Met Maten is a Dutch craft brewery founded in 2017 in Empel, a village in the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch in the province of Noord-Brabant. The brewery was established by Aafko Bergenhenegouwen and Jorrit Blanksma, with the support of a group of friends — or 'maten' in Dutch. The name reflects the founding philosophy perfectly: beer simply tastes better when shared with good company. Ger Verhallen later joined the team, further strengthening the brewery's foundation. The brewery was built on the concept of the 'matenbier', a beer brewed together with friends and meant to be enjoyed in good company. This social spirit is central to the identity of Brouwerij Met Maten, shaping both the brewing culture and the beers they produce. The brewery is rooted in a community-driven approach that sets it apart within the Dutch craft beer landscape.
