Wispe Veluws honingbier is a tripel from Wispe Brouwerij in Weesp, a city with a brewing heritage stretching back to 1333. In 2009, three brothers—Jerrit, Jitze and Remko Vellenga—revived the brewery in this historic brewing town on the Vecht river. This honey beer marries the strength of a tripel with subtle honey sweetness. The aroma carries fruity notes of yellow and stone fruit, supported by spicy, yeasty undertones. The palate is dry and warming, with a lingering finish that reflects the beer's robust alcohol content. Wispe brews using time-honoured methods: water, malt, hops and yeast—ingredients that have sustained Weesp's brewing tradition for centuries.
