The Zuidhorner Abt from Vrolijcke Joncker takes its name from the former Aduard monastery in Zuidhorn. This dark brown quadrupel is brewed with four different malt varieties and two aromatic hop types, creating a complex beer with considerable depth. On the palate, dark fruit, coffee and caramel notes emerge alongside warming alcohol. The full body and strength typical of an abbey-style quadrupel are balanced by subtle bitterness, making this a beer that rewards contemplation and pairs well with hearty fare.
