Zwart Nazareth
Zwart Nazareth is a quadrupel from Scyedam brewery, brewed in honour of Schiedam's industrial past. The Dutch city earned its nickname 'Black Nazareth' in the 19th century, when soot from distilleries and glass factories darkened the streets. This beer celebrates that heritage with dark candi sugars and a full, layered character.
The aroma brings dark dried fruit and raisin notes with rich malt undertones. The palate develops sweet caramel and honey, balanced by complex fruit flavours and a dry, bitter finish. At 9% ABV, the beer carries warmth and body, with a lingering bitter aftertaste that rewards contemplation.
