Heemraad is a witbier from Bierbrouwerij De Magistraat in Almkerk, brewed since 2020. This beer stands out for its exceptionally pale, hazy appearance – "whiter than white", as the brewery describes it. Brewed with barley, wheat and oat malts, it achieves its characteristic white colour and soft texture. The flavour is refreshing and lightly sweet with distinct citrus notes, particularly orange. This makes it an excellent summer beer that drinks smoothly without heaviness. The brewery focuses on classical beer styles without unnecessary embellishment – good beer in its purest form.
