Van Vollenhoven Munchener
Van Vollenhoven Münchener is a historic Dortmunder Export-style lager from Brouwerij Poesiat & Kater in Amsterdam. Named after the Munich beer tradition, this bottom-fermented style was brewed by several Dutch breweries in the late 19th century as a malty, approachable lager.
Poesiat & Kater revives this classic according to traditional recipes. The original Van Vollenhoven was notable for its high malt content paired with modest alcohol, and was even recommended by physicians of the era as wholesome. Today the brewery continues this heritage using precise scientific methods, much like the original brewers who employed thermometers and saccharometers to control fermentation.
