Monkey Tonkey's debut is a light quadrupel aged in Appleton Jamaican Rum casks – a partnership with one of the world's oldest continuously operating rum distilleries, established in Jamaica's Nassau Valley in 1749. The beer marries the full, sweet character of a traditional quadrupel with the complexity of Appleton's pot and column still rum aging. The nose leads with rum sweetness and subtle malt bitterness. On the palate, the rich beer base and barrel influence create a balanced interplay of flavours. At 10% ABV, the beer drinks softer than its strength suggests. A compelling crossover for those drawn to the marriage of craft brewing and cask maturation.
