Kaapse Karel
Kaapse Karel is a Session IPA from Kaapse Brouwers, the independent Rotterdam craft brewery established in 2014. Light in alcohol at 4.9% but generous in flavour, this beer presents a full, white head that crowns its pale golden appearance.
The aroma bursts with citrus, grapefruit and passion fruit, layered with subtle floral and herbal notes. On the palate, fresh citrus leads into a refined hop bitterness that integrates smoothly, finishing with a sweet, creamy quality touched by grass and caramel undertones.
Despite its modest alcohol content, Kaapse Karel carries satisfying body and remains remarkably drinkable, the interplay between fruity esters and balanced bitterness making it both approachable and rewarding.
