Jopen Witte Rook
Jopen Witte Rook is Haarlem's annual New Year's brew from the Netherlands' largest independent craft brewery. This distinctive beer blends the fruity warmth of a Helles Weizenbock with the characteristic smoke of a rauchbier. The name draws from the white smoke released when a new pope is elected—a fitting symbol for this yearly tradition.
The flavour merges both heritages: wheat beer notes of banana and clove meet bacon-like smoke tones. At 7% ABV, it delivers power without sacrificing drinkability. This is a seasonal exploration of two classic German styles, not an everyday beer.
