Berging Brouwerij in Purmerend crafts this annual Sailing series with dedication to Dutch brewing excellence. The Sailing Quadrupel BA is a blend matured in rum barrels from the tall ship Tres Hombres, which sails between the Netherlands and the Caribbean. The beer pours dark with a full head. The barrels shape its character: spicy malt forms the foundation, layered with rum influence, candied fruit, and toasted malt notes. This is a full-bodied, intensely flavoured quadrupel made remarkably smooth by barrel maturation. The 12.4% alcohol is well integrated, delivering warmth without harshness. A beer for contemplation rather than quick consumption.
