Gerardus Dubbel from Gulpener Bierbrouwerij is a firm, dark ale rooted in monastic tradition. Monks originally brewed and sold this style to support their communities. This modern interpretation combines four distinct malts with two aromatic hop varieties, creating a layered, sophisticated beer.

The aroma reveals raisins and dried apricots. On the palate, rich notes of brown bread, toffee, honey and toast emerge, complemented by subtle hints of nuts and cedarwood. The beer is acidic and spicy, with coffee and dark chocolate notes building in the finish. A substantial beer best savoured slowly.
