Gruut Inferno
Gruut Inferno is a tripel from Gentse Stadsbrouwerij Gruut, a brewery established in 2009 that revives medieval brewing traditions in the heart of Ghent. Unlike most Gruut beers, which replace hops with a secret blend of medieval herbs, Inferno is brewed with hops, creating a more conventional yet distinctive tripel. At 9% ABV, it displays a golden hue and layered flavour profile combining sweet, spicy and fruity elements.
The nose offers malt, honey and herbal notes with hints of ripe fruit. The palate is intense yet refined, balancing sweet malt and honey with light fruity yeast character. The finish is warming and dry, with a pleasant alcohol warmth befitting its strength.
