Füchschen Alt is the house beer of Brauerei Im Füchschen, brewed continuously since 1848 in Düsseldorf's Altstadt. This classic Altbier marries top fermentation with cold aging—a hybrid approach that defines the style. The beer presents a copper-brown hue with a full, clinging foam head. The nose carries toasty malt, bready notes and subtle spicy character from noble hops. On the palate, malty and lightly caramelized flavours emerge, balanced by a firm, dry bitterness. Saaz and Hallertau hops provide the signature noble hop profile. The finish is dry and refreshing with a smooth, clean aftertaste. A well-composed beer that honours its heritage.
