O'Hara's Leann Folláin is a full-bodied, complex stout from Carlow Brewing Company, an independent family-owned brewery in Bagenalstown, County Carlow, Ireland. At 6% ABV, it is considerably stronger than most traditional Irish dry stouts. The beer balances dark chocolate and vanilla notes with herbal, spicy hop character. The aroma reveals roasted malts, cereal grains and herbal hops. On the palate, malt takes the lead, delivering astringent black patent malt, espresso, tobacco and leather notes. Despite its full body and complexity, the beer remains highly drinkable, with a clean finish and no harsh edges.
