Bean Me Up Scotty is a coffee porter brewed by Vet & Lazy in Rotterdam, housed in the former Tropicana swimming complex. This seasonal beer emerged from an inventive approach: a single 2000-litre base batch was split into five distinct variants, each with its own identity. For this version, Groenlo-based Brouwerij Brouwersnös added Heilige Boontjes coffee to give the porter a deeper, roasted character. The beer is lightly hopped and drinks smoothly despite its full flavour. Rotterdam-roasted coffee dominates the aroma and palate, supported by the classic dark malts of a porter style. The result is a balanced coffee porter that respects the bitterness of the brewing process without overwhelming the drinker.
