Maximus Diesel is a stout from Brouwerij Maximus in Utrecht, brewed on a traditional steam-powered installation. This 6% stout reflects the brewery's philosophy: craft-focused, pure, and restrained in hop character. The beer emerged in 2011 when three founders—architect Ewald Visser, social scientist Arend-Jan van Dieën, and Marcel Snater—established their brewery in Leidsche Rijn, a western district of Utrecht.

Diesel presents as a balanced stout with dark roasted character and a full, rounded body. The brewery works with pure water, barley, hops and yeast as foundation, creating an authentic beer without excessive flourish.
