Zwarte Zwaan from Brouwerij Homeland in Amsterdam is an ambitious Pastry Stout at 12% ABV. Crafted for dark winter days, this full-bodied black beer weaves together baking chocolate, hazelnut and coffee from Keppler into a cohesive whole.

The beer is jet black with a light brown head that settles to a thin collar. Aromas of roasted malt, hazelnut and milk chocolate lead, with hints of coffee beneath. The palate is soft and noticeably sweet, balanced by restrained bitterness (21 IBU). The finish is warming and substantial, befitting the alcohol content.
