Gouden Carolus Indulgence Funken is the sixth flavour expression in Het Anker's annual limited series, brewed in Mechelen. At 8% ABV, this amber ale merges Belgian brewing heritage with German smoke traditions: part of the malt bill is replaced with peated malt, creating a pronounced, spicy hop character. The nose reveals smoky, peaty notes with hints of smoked meat. On the palate, malty and grainy flavours dominate alongside substantial smoke, complemented by citrus zest and brown sugar notes. The finish is dry and lingering, with a light peppery edge.
