Gouden Carolus Classic is a Grand Imperial Beer from Brouwerij Het Anker in Mechelen, brewed to a 1960s recipe. The name honours Emperor Charles V and the golden coins representing his influence on the city. This dark, top-fermented ale delivers layers of dried fruit, molasses and spice.

The palate reveals plum, raisin and fig alongside coffee and chocolate notes, with a distinctive aniseed undertone. The finish is warming and rounded, with the alcohol well-integrated into the overall character. It is recognized as a regional product of Belgium.
