Moersleutel Can Brûlée
Can Brûlée from Moersleutel is a barleywine that lives up to its name. This Dutch brewery, founded by four brothers in Alkmaar, crafts beers with engineering precision and full flavour.
The nose opens with vanilla and caramel, followed by rich malt notes. On the palate, sweetness dominates – vanilla and caramel fill the mouth, supported by deep malt character. The beer feels thick and syrupy, just like a real crème brûlée.
The finish brings an alcohol warmth that balances the sweetness. Despite only 9% ABV, this beer drinks fuller and warmer than the number suggests.
