Hopnotic Waves is a Double IPA from Amundsen Bryggeri in Oslo, brewed in collaboration with Track Brewing. At 8.5% ABV, this is a full-bodied New England-style IPA with a hazy appearance. The recipe combines Pilsner, wheat malt, flaked oats and CaraPils with four hop varieties: Amarillo, Citra, Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin. Lactose contributes sweetness and body, creating a juicy, creamy expression with tropical and citrus aromas. Bitterness is balanced and supportive rather than assertive. The beer gains character as it warms, allowing the full flavour profile to emerge. Amundsen Bryggeri, founded in 2011 as a small brewpub in Oslo, has built a reputation for innovation and quality in the Norwegian craft beer scene.
