Avereest Eigen Wiez is a rye weizen from Brouwerij Avereest in Dedemsvaart, a young brewery that has revived craft brewing in the Reestdal region after more than a century of absence. This weizen distinguishes itself through the addition of rye alongside barley and wheat, contributing a distinctive bite to the beer. The beer offers a fresh, lightly tart character with citrus aromatics. Fruity notes combine with a subtle lime flavour that delivers refreshing appeal. The Eigen Wiez serves as a nod to the region's heritage, where rye held cultural significance in the lives of the peat workers who were once supplied with beer by the historic brewer Roelof Veeningen.
