Saison de Pipaix is the flagship of Brasserie à Vapeur, the world's only remaining steam-powered brewery. This traditional Walloon saison traces its heritage and recipe to 1785 and continues to be brewed according to those original methods. The beer is dry and crisp, seasoned with black pepper, ginger, orange peel and star anise for distinctive character. The nose offers citrus, pear and spice with subtle tartness. On the palate, fruity notes take centre stage, balanced by pleasant acidity and supporting malt sweetness, finishing with floral and peppery notes. This is a complex, food-friendly saison—demanding rather than immediately approachable, but rewarding for those who seek depth. It ages well.
