Oriel Beer is a microbrewery in Bucharest, Romania, rooted in passion for Belgian brewing traditions. Their Quadrupel is an ambitious beer brewed with six types of malt and two hop varieties, fermented with a special Belgian liquid yeast strain. At 10.3% ABV, it is frequently released in barrel-aged variants—from rum to whisky casks—each batch developing its own distinctive character. This is a rich, full-bodied beer with a dark brown hue. The palate carries notes of candied fruit, toasted grain, and gentle sweetness, supported by a smooth mouthfeel. Depending on barrel finish, toasty, chocolate, or vanilla notes may emerge. The closing bitterness is soft and well-integrated.
