Wispe 1863 is a blonde ale from Wispe Brouwerij in Weesp, named after the year Gerard Heineken took over the historic Hooiberg brewery. In 2009, three brothers—Jerrit, Jitze and Remko Vellenga—revived the city's brewing heritage after a century without a local brewery. Brewed with water, malt, hops and yeast using traditional craft methods, this blonde ale offers a fresh and fruity character. The beer balances sweet malt notes with the distinctive aroma and natural bitterness of hops, creating an approachable yet flavourful drink suited to many occasions. Wispe Brouwerij operates from the Sint-Laurentiuskerk in Weesp's historic centre, combining a working brewery, tasting room and event venue.
