Pauwel Kwak is a traditional Belgian strong amber ale from Brouwerij Bosteels, named after a brewer and innkeeper from Dendermonde in Napoleonic times. Brewed with water, barley malt, hops and yeast, this ale balances malt and hop character with genuine complexity. The beer displays a light amber hue beneath a full, velvety head. The aroma is mellow and fruity, with subtle notes of banana and pear alongside a slightly spicy character. On the palate, sweet malt flavours of caramel and toffee emerge, while a delicate bitterness remains restrained in the background.
