Butterfly Effect is a West Coast IPA from BrewDog, the Scottish brewery based in Ellon. At 6% ABV, this IPA follows the classic American template with an emphasis on hop character and drinkability.

In the glass, a clear golden colour with white head. The aroma is dominated by citrus – orange, lemon and grapefruit – with supporting hop and malt undertones. On the palate, grapefruit takes the lead, backed by solid malt backbone and pleasant bitterness that keeps the beer in balance.

The finish is clean and dry, typical of a West Coast IPA. An approachable hoppy beer that appeals to both newcomers and experienced beer drinkers.
