Sergeant Pinckaers is a top-fermented blonde ale brewed by Breuster Brouwers in Eijsden, on the Dutch-Belgian border. The beer takes its name from customs officer Pinckaers, who stopped Kaiser Wilhelm II and his entourage at the border crossing on 10 November 1918 â a moment marking the end of World War I. This ale displays an amber-tinged hue and offers a lightly spiced finish. Belgian yeast brings complexity to the beer, with fruity notes evident in both aroma and flavour. The beer undergoes bottle conditioning, contributing to natural carbonation and liveliness. Serve at around 8 °C to best appreciate the spice and fruity character.
