Diebels Alt is a classic Altbier from Issum on the Lower Rhine, brewed by the Diebels brewery since its founding in 1878. This traditional ale is crafted from 90% summer barley malt and 10% Dunkel malt, with aromatic Hallertauer hops from Bavaria. The beer pours a light chestnut brown with a generous cream-coloured head. The aroma reveals soft roasted malt, caramel and toasted bread notes, with faint grassy undertones. On the palate, it is mild and well-balanced, displaying roasted malt character and a gently earthy bitterness that lingers dryly into the finish. Medium-bodied with a clean, refreshing conclusion.
