Stuttgarter Hofbräu

Stuttgarter Hofbräu is one of Stuttgart's most storied breweries, with roots stretching back to 1591, making it one of the oldest brewing traditions in the Baden-Württemberg region of Germany. Although the brewery officially adopted the name Stuttgarter Hofbräu in 1935, its heritage spans more than four centuries. Over the course of its sometimes turbulent history, the brewery has changed hands several times, and today it operates as part of the Radeberger Gruppe, one of Germany's largest brewing groups. As the official beer of Stuttgart, Stuttgarter Hofbräu is firmly rooted in the Württemberg lager tradition, producing clean, malt-forward lagers that reflect the brewing culture of southwest Germany. The brewery prides itself on being exclusively brewed in Stuttgart — a point of civic pride captured in its slogan "Proud to be a Stuttgarter." Its portfolio centres on accessible, well-crafted lagers that have long been a staple at local events, festivals and in the city's beer culture. Stuttgarter Hofbräu holds a strong regional identity and is recognised as the most popular beer brand in Baden-Württemberg. It also serves as the official stadium beer for VfB Stuttgart, cementing its status as a true icon of Swabian brewing heritage.
