Starnberger Brauhaus
Germany · Founded in 2015
Starnberger Brauhaus is a Bavarian craft brewery founded in 2015, with production starting one year later in 2016. The brewery is located in Berg, a municipality in the Starnberg district of Bavaria, Germany. Its modern production facility is built using the latest brewing technology, positioned in one of Bavaria's most scenic and affluent regions near Lake Starnberg. In August 2025, the well-known German brewery Krombacher acquired a 65% majority stake in Starnberger Brauhaus, recognising the brand's growing reputation and potential within the European beer market. Starnberger Brauhaus focuses on traditional Bavarian beer styles, with its portfolio centred around approachable and well-crafted lagers and wheat beers. The brewery's signature beer is the Starnberger Hell, a classic Helles lager that has gained recognition beyond Germany and was added to Krombacher's European portfolio. Alongside the Hell, the brewery also produces the Starnberger Weisse, a Hefeweizen wheat beer with over 4,500 ratings on Untappd, as well as a refreshing Starnberger Radler. The Starnberger Hell in particular has become the flagship of the brand, distributed across Europe through the Krombacher network. With roots in the Bavarian brewing tradition and a modern approach to production, Starnberger Brauhaus represents the new generation of German craft brewing.
