De Vaanbrouwers is a family-run craft brewery originally based in Barendrecht, in the Dutch province of South Holland. As a true family business, the brewery has built a local identity rooted in the community and the agricultural landscape of the surrounding region. In early 2025, De Vaanbrouwers announced a move to the Buijtenland van Rhoon, a nature and farming area near Rhoon, marking a new chapter in the brewery's story. De Vaanbrouwers is known for brewing with locally sourced grains, including cereals grown in the Buijtenland van Rhoon itself. This commitment to regional ingredients gives their beers a distinctly local character. Their signature beer, Rhoons Blond, is a blonde ale brewed with grains from this polder landscape and is also served at neighbouring Brouwerij Vet & Lazy. The brewery participates in regional beer festivals, including the Bierfestival Zundert and Bierfestival Oudenbosch, where they appear alongside other Dutch craft breweries. As one of the few breweries working directly with locally cultivated grains, De Vaanbrouwers occupies a unique position in the Dutch craft beer scene. Their move to the Buijtenland van Rhoon further strengthens the connection between their brewing and the land around them.
