Brouwerij Zuyd

Brouwerij Zuyd, also known as Zuyd Craft, is a craft brewery based in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Founded in 2016, the brewery made its debut with an India Pale Lager — a hybrid that combined the hoppy character of a classic India Pale Ale with the crisp drinkability of a traditional lager. This pioneering first brew set the tone for what would become a brewery known for bold experimentation and boundary-pushing beer styles. With an annual production of around 350 hectolitres, Zuyd operates on a modest but focused scale. The brewery's portfolio spans a wide range of styles, from heavily dry-hopped IPAs and India Pale Lagers to rich, high-alcohol offerings such as the Saga, a 10% ABV beer brewed with oats, barley, and wheat. Zuyd also ventures into intense territory with a 12% Pastry Stout in the Russian Imperial Stout style, demonstrating a clear appetite for both hop-forward and malt-driven extremes. The range is divided into a core and a special series, reflecting a structured yet adventurous approach to their brewing programme. Brouwerij Zuyd has also built notable collaborations, including the development of D'Artagnan Bière du Brut in 2021, a house beer created in partnership with the prestigious Château Neercanne in Maastricht. This collaboration underlines Zuyd's connection to their home city and their ability to translate local heritage into distinctive, crafted beers.
