Brouwerij De Glazen Toren

Brouwerij De Glazen Toren, meaning 'The Glass Tower', is a Belgian artisanal brewery located in Erpe-Mere, in the East Flemish province of Belgium. The roots of the brewery stretch back to 1988, when founder Jef Van den Steen began experimenting with a small 50-litre kettle — a period marked by plenty of trial and error. After years of honing their craft, the dream of a professional brewery was eventually realised with the official opening of De Glazen Toren in Erpe-Mere, near Aalst. The brewery has built its reputation on brewing classic and historic Belgian beer styles with a deep respect for tradition and the stories behind each beer. Every beer in the portfolio reflects careful attention to history and authenticity. The range includes recognised Belgian styles such as saison, Scotch ale, and other time-honoured brewing traditions. Among their flagship beers is the Saison d'Erpe-Mere, the first beer ever brewed under the De Glazen Toren name and still the cornerstone of their portfolio. Another notable offering is Canaster, a subtle Scotch ale. De Glazen Toren has steadily grown from a home-brewing experiment into an internationally distributed brewery, with its beers available through specialist importers in markets including the United States and Australia. The brewery's commitment to reviving and celebrating historic Belgian beer styles has earned it recognition among beer enthusiasts worldwide.
