Wispe Dubbel
Wispe Dubbel is a classic Belgian beer from the Wispe Brewery in Weesp, a town whose brewing heritage stretches back to the 14th century. In 2009, three brothers—Jerrit, Jitze and Remko Vellenga—revived the brewery to honour this tradition.
Brewed with dark malts and Belgian candi sugar, then fermented with Trappist abbey yeast, this beer matures on oak chips, adding subtle wood character to its caramel and toffee notes. At 8.7% ABV, it delivers a full, warming presence with dark fruit undertones.
Wispe Dubbel reflects the brewery's commitment to blending time-honoured Belgian brewing methods with a distinctly local identity in a town that once lost its brewing voice and has now reclaimed it.
