Korbinian
Korbinian is a doppelbock from Weihenstephaner, the world's oldest brewery, located in Freising, Bavaria. The beer honours Saint Korbinianus, the figure whose arrival in 725 led to the foundation of what became nearly a thousand years of brewing tradition.
This malt-forward strong lager balances sweetness with restraint. The aroma is dominated by malt with notes of dried fruit. On the palate, dark fruits, raisins and chocolate emerge, supported by a full body and robust carbonation. The 7.4% alcohol integrates seamlessly, masked by the beer's malty character.
Korbinian avoids the cloying sweetness of many doppelbocks, instead offering an earthy, fruity profile that sets it apart. A compelling choice for those who appreciate substantial German brewing.
