Space is the Place from Van Moll is an ambitious sour ale from Eindhoven, named after Sun Ra's 1972 Afrofuturistic cult film. The beer matured for nearly two years in bourbon barrels, where lactic bacteria slowly soured it into a complex, Belgian-inspired character.

The foundation echoes a Rochefort 6: dark, fruity and full-bodied. Pilsner, Munich and Aromatic malts form the base, enriched with Special B for depth. After bourbon aging, it was dry-hopped with Idaho-7 and Talus, providing fresh contrast against the dark, fermented tones.

At 6.7% ABV with just 10 IBU, this is a sour rather than bitter beer. Plums and figs dominate, supported by bourbon warmth and the woody notes of extended barrel maturation.
