Stone Xocoveza
Stone Xocoveza is an 8.1% imperial stout from San Diego inspired by Mexican hot chocolate. Born in 2014 when homebrewer Chris Banker's winning competition recipe was adopted by Stone Brewing, this beer captures the warmth and spice of traditional Mexican chocolate culture. Brewed with pure cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and Pasilla peppers, Xocoveza delivers a layered, indulgent experience.
The aroma opens with intense coffee, cocoa and cinnamon, underscored by subtle pepper notes. On the palate, dark chocolate and roasted coffee lead, with soft vanilla and nutmeg adding depth. The Pasilla peppers contribute a distinctive peppery, aromatic finish without harsh heat. Full-bodied and creamy, yet balanced and surprisingly approachable for its strength.
