De Kater is a Quadrupel from Stadsbrouwerij De Koperen Kat, the Delft-based craft brewery established in 2011 within a converted cable factory on the Schieweg. This robust ale (10% ABV) displays a gold-to-amber hue and delivers a full, lightly sweet character marked by caramel, raisin and subtle smoky notes.

The nose blends grainy malt with hints of rum-like sweetness and fruity esters. On the palate, caramel and candi sugar emerge alongside a warming alcohol presence. A beer of substance, best enjoyed alongside game, aged cheeses or as a contemplative closer to an evening.
