Abt 12
St. Bernardus Abt 12 is a classic quadrupel brewed to the original 1946 recipe. This full-bodied dark ale emerged when St. Bernardus ceased contract brewing for Sint-Sixtus Abbey and continued the strongest beer recipe from that era under its own name.
Fermented with the brewery's house yeast, Abt 12 delivers a distinctive fruity aroma. The palate reveals dark malt, caramel and chocolate layered with warming alcohol and a subtle spice and wine-like undertone. As it warms, the flavour intensifies and unfolds further.
Thick-bodied with a lingering dark finish. Remarkably balanced for its strength—the malt and alcohol warmth blend seamlessly into a beer that rewards both immediate enjoyment and patient sipping.
