Vermeersen Zeeuws Dubbel
Vermeersen Zeeuws Dubbel is a dark abbey-style beer from Bierbrouwerij Vermeersen, located in Hulst in Zeeuwsch-Vlaanderen. The brewery, established in 1989 but tracing its heritage to 1821, focuses on balanced craft beers brewed with local ingredients wherever possible.
This dubbel displays a deep brown colour with full, dark malt character. Saaz and Brewers Gold hops are used judiciously throughout the brewing process to add complexity without dominating the profile. The nose reveals roasted malt and caramel notes, with subtle spicy undertones.
On the palate, caramel and sweet malt flavours take the lead, balanced by an appropriate bitterness that never overpowers. The finish is dry and clean, with a lingering, satisfying aftertaste.
